Mexican customs clearance made simple
Documents required for returning Mexican nationals and citizens from other countries are different.
All household goods shipments are inspected by customs upon entering Mexico
1) Documents required for individuals with nationality other tan Mexican
- Appropriate Mexican visa type
- Copy of passport
- EIN number (for US citizens)
- Packing list of goods contained in shipment
- Mexican consular inventory (Certificado a la Lista de Menaje de Casa para Extranjeros). This documents may be required or not depending on port of entry to Mexico (Ask us)
- Additional documents are required that will be supplied by Moreno. Please ask us for a more complete information
2) Documents required for Mexican nationals
- Mexican consulate legalized inventory “CERTIFICADO A LA LISTA DE MENAJE DE CASA PARA MEXICANOS”. This document is strictly necessary, wothout it would be imposible to import his/her household goods. It is obtained by showing proof to embassy or consulate of having lived outside of Mexico for six continuous months, and a list of the household goods being imported.

What household goods are allowed to be imported and which are not
You can include tax free, used for more than six months, furniture and household goods for the exclusive use of one family. There has to be evidence of being used, like clothing, furniture, books, ornamental items, etc.
It is not allowed to include in your shipment new items or used ones with less than six months of use, items in original packing, live plants or animals, food and beverages of any type including water, firearms, ammunition, explosives, medicines, narcotics, counterfeit items, automobiles, motorcycles, motor boats or golf carts run by gasoline, cash, jewelry, machinery or items to set up shop or factory. Automobiles and other motor vehicles
Returning Mexican nationals cannot import them under risk of being confiscated
Nationals with citizenship other than Mexican with temporary visas can import them temprarily by obtaining the corresponding permit. To do it requires being present at the port of entry and doing all paperwork themselves. Once this permit is obtained vehicle has to be driven inside Mexico by visa holder himself. Only one automobile is allowed per visa holder and permit duration usually is for the length of the visa. If any questions, please contact us.

- All furniture, personal items and ornaments are carefully packed, inventoried and loaded on truck
- Moreno International will take care of customs clearance both, upon departing The USA or Canada and entering Mexico, without your being present at the port of entry
- Once goods are customs cleared and have arrived to your destination city Moreno will contact you to schedule delivery
- All your goods will be offloaded from vehicle and light placed on each room of house, checking for any damage or missing items
- Furniture is unpacked, beds and tables are set up, cartons are opened and contents placed on open spaces like floor, beds, tables, etc. or left for later unpacking by you. Once this process is finished all discarded packing materials and boxes are removed from property on same delivery day
- Once delivery complete you will be asked to sign delivery sheet noting any exceptions
